As a distributor of batteries, we are also obliged to take back used batteries, whereby our take-back obligation is limited to used batteries of the type that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our range. - Meaning of the battery symbols
-
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed out garbage can (see below). This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries that contain more than 0.0005 percent by mass of mercury, more than 0.002 percent by mass of cadmium or more than 0.004 percent by mass of lead, the chemical designation of the pollutant used is under the garbage can symbol - "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb" "stands for lead, and" Hg "for mercury.

- Starter batteries - battery deposit
-
The following special features apply to the sale of starter batteries: According to § 10 BattG, the seller is obliged to collect a deposit of 7.50 euros including sales tax from end users if the end user does not give the seller a used starter battery at the time of purchasing the new starter battery returns. The customer receives a deposit voucher when purchasing a starter battery. When returning the old starter battery to a collection point set up by the public waste disposal agency, the customer must have the disposal confirmed by means of a stamp and signature. The customer then has the option of sending this confirmation back to the seller, stating his customer number, for reimbursement of the deposit. Alternatively, the customer can hand in his old starter battery directly to the seller together with the pawn ticket for reimbursement of the deposit. (Due to the dangerous goods regulation, the old battery cannot be sent to the seller.)
